This notice explains what happens to your information when you visit viralahealth.com or join our email list. The VIRALA app will have its own privacy notice, published with the app.
Visiting the website
The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. in the United States. To deliver the pages and keep the service secure, GitHub processes technical information about each visit, including your IP address, and keeps logs of it for security purposes. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website. GitHub’s privacy statement explains how it handles this information.
The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising pixels or embedded third-party content. Fonts and images are served from the website itself.
Our email list
If you join the list, we ask for your email address only. We use it to send occasional updates about VIRALA, including when the app is ready. We don’t ask for your name, age or any health information, and we never sell your address.
- Consent. We email you because you asked us to. After you sign up, we send one email asking you to confirm your address; you’re added to the list only once you confirm.
- Kit. The list is run on Kit, an email service based in the United States, which processes your address on our behalf. Kit participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which covers transfers of personal data from the European Union to the United States. When you sign up and read our emails, Kit records technical details such as the time of sign-up, your IP address and whether an email was opened or a link clicked.
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every email has an unsubscribe link, or you can write to us. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect emails already sent.
- Deletion. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Ask at support@viralahealth.com and we’ll remove it from the list.
Your appearance choice
If you switch to the dark appearance, your browser stores that one setting on your own device (local storage, key virala-theme) so the next page matches. It’s never sent to us. Switching back to light removes it.
If you email us
When you write to support@viralahealth.com, we receive your address and whatever you include, and use it only to reply. Please don’t send medical records or urgent requests; we can’t give medical advice by email.
Links to other services
We link to our Instagram profile, @viralahealth, and to the public sources our articles cite. Nothing from these services loads on this website, and their own privacy policies apply once you visit them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, object to how it’s used, or withdraw your consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data-protection authority, such as the one in the country where you live.
